Ms. Lee Yupin opened Sri Wilayah Ballet School on the 6th of June 1983. Since then the school has expanded in size and enrollment and today provides one of the finest ballet training in the city of Kuala Lumpur. With an emphasis on discipline and hard-work, the school has produced many individuals who have gone on to be a part of the dance world locally as well as internationally.
The school is now spread out over three floors and contains four studios which have been specially designed to be bright and conducive for the work required of students to succeed. In order to create a quality learning environment, internal assessments are held every year to determine the learning progress and graded students are promoted accordingly. Higher vocational students are encouraged to enrol in the Vocational Graded Examinations of the Royal Academy of Dance, UK.
Apart from exams, the school has many annual events that range from Christmas Parties, where students are encouraged to have fun socialising, School Concerts, where students are exposed to performing on stage in front of an audience, Dance Camps, where choreographers are invited to give intensive courses over a three to four day period at the school. Students are also encouraged to join ballet competitions as well as dance in various performing arts festivals.
